Every line of every design is lovingly hand crafted by graphic designer Rob Bartlett, who created Caxton Rhode as an outlet for his love of all things fine and fabulous.

“I have spent the past fifteen years working as a graphic designer in the digital arena, which is by its very nature constantly evolving and in many ways, heart-breakingly disposable. With Caxton Rhode, I wanted to create something with true design integrity and lasting appeal.

I have always been mesmerised by the great British crafts men and women of the past, as much for their skill and commitment as for the incredible things they made.

However, very early on I remember deciding that I really wanted to strive for a more traditional finish, to create something more akin to the great pen and ink works that I have so often admired. It was of course only after four full months and nearly forty thousand individual lines later, that the sheer enormity of the challenge I had set myself was fully revealed. However, I can honestly say that I have never been more committed to or proud of anything else that I have designed.”

Rob currently lives in Wimbledon, South West London with his wife and business partner, Laura and daughter Martha.
